Hi, I'm Natassha.

A little over a year back, I decided to teach myself data science.

I started with learning how to code, then enrolled into a data science online course on Udemy.

That course was the beginning of what I hope will be a lifelong journey in this field.

Taking that course made me realize that I could learn anything I wanted to in the world, as long as I had access to the Internet.

The democratization of education has made learning accessible to students all over the world, and I am a testament to that.

I carefully put together a data science roadmap outlining all the things I had to learn to become a data scientist.

After spending around 8 hours a day studying, coding and completing projects, I realized that I'd learnt a lot more in just a couple of months than I did in my entire degree program.

I also realized that it took a lot of passion, dedication, and discipline to stay motivated when learning a subject on your own.

Learning the fundamentals of statistics, probability, programming and business analytics is no easy task. These are entire fields on their own, and it would take a lifetime to master even one of them.

In this blog, I write about my experience when self learning data science.

As a self-taught data scientist, I know what it takes to break into the industry with little formal data science education.

I want to give back to the community and help other aspiring data scientists land a job in the industry.
